1. Appearance

(a) Hair cut

        * Decent short hair cut. Long and fancy haircuts are not permitted

        * Changes of minimum length due to sports and drama reasons will be accepted. But    prior approval should be taken from the principal

        * Should be clean- shaven

        * Side burns should be cut to eye level

 

(b) Uniform of a Marian

 (i) Shirt

        * No collar buttons, trademarks or trade embroidery

        * No center fold/border, no buttonhole on the pocket

        * The pocket should be on the right

        * Long sleeves should not be folded

        * The neck lining of the vest should be below the first shirt button

        * The long/short sleeved shirt should be neatly tucked in

        * If wearing the college tie for a function unfolded long sleeve shirt should be worn

 

 (ii) Trouser

        * A formal trouser without double folds or loops

        * Bell bottoms are not allowed

        * Two pleats, two slant pockets, one back pocket

        * For the juniors, blue shorts are allowed with all the above requirements maintained

 

 (iii) Shoes

        * Black leather shoes cleaned and polished well (brown or fancy shoes are not allowed)

        * No color lining, color shoes, buckles, metal tabs and trade labels

        * No colored or fancy laces, except for black

        * No ankle or half-ankle shoes

        * No oversized heals/soles

 

 (iv) Watch

        * Gold or gold lined and fancy watches are not allowed

        * Watches should firmly be fit to the wrist

 

 (v) Socks

        * Only white socks should be worn

 

(c) Other

        * No chains, bracelets, bands and rings are allowed

        * Chains, rings and bands worn for religious purposes must be accompanied by a letter from the parents and approved by the vice principal

        * Diary should be brought to school daily and should be covered by a transparent cover and should be properly filled

 

2. Behavior

        * Classroom discipline is very important

        * Littering in the college premises and any act that disgraces the college will have severe consequence

        * Eating or drinking in the canteen and walking along the corridors is strictly prohibited during school hours unless with the written permission from the grade head or any deputy principal

        * Playing in the grounds, basket ball courts or anywhere else strictly prohibited during the school hours

 

3. Possessions

        * CD's, VCD's, DVD's, VHS's, Flash drives, Floppy disks, hand phones, memory chips and audio cassettes are not allowed to be brought to the school

        * If any of the above material are required for educational purposes, special permission should be sought by means of a letter approved by an assistant principal

 

4. General

        * No student may leave the school premises for any reason without written permission from the principal or any deputy principal

        * When representing college at a function correct uniform must be worn with the long sleeve unfolded with the college tie

        * When wearing the school uniform outside the school premises such as tuitions classes seminars ect,  all the above rules apply

        * For office bearers of clubs and societies, when representing school or participating at any function at school, white coat should be worn

        * The college crest should not be primed, embroidered or used in any other way unless permission has been granted from the principal

        * Students who arrive at school premises after 8.15AM shall be considered as late comers and will be disciplined

        * All students should report to their classes at the first bell and after the interval which is at 11..45AM

        * Caps, hats should not be worn inside the school except in the play ground

        * Students are expected affirmed, as mentioned above at all times within school premises
