Your Relationship with College Accounts and Online services.

You are agreed to following rules and regulations when using St.Mary's College Kegalle (hereafter referred to as 'college') online services or any other electronic web based media which is hosted and owned by the college or reserved for the college by an authorized person officially with an acknowledged partnership with the college or created by the college officially. These terms and conditions must be strictly followed. You are bound to these terms and conditions immediately after your registration to online services. Any issue regarding non-official releases will not be resolved by the college in any case.

Groups, Fan pages and Community sites

There will be several non official releases of groups, fan pages, message boards, forums, image galleries, video galleries, blogs and ect. in community sites or any other locations. These may not be officially created and may be for entertainment or for communication purposes made by collage fans or other non authorized personal. College does not hold any responsibility on these features at any occasion including comments, notes, blogs, multimedia posts, ect. College also doesnot hold any guarantee of the accuracy of these information.

Google Apps

College provide some of its online features like Documents, Sites, contacts via an Educational Edition of Google Apps reserved for the college. We hope to increase the productivity via these applications. User registration will be done by the college. You can manage this account as instructed in www.kgsmc.sch.lk/accounts

College has all the rights to create or suspend its users depending on the final decision. You can apply for online membership (for Google Apps Educational edition of SMC) by filling out an online form or by requesting from school IT Lab. For more information on registration please refer New Users section at www.kgsmc.sch.lk/accounts. You should provide true and correct information. In any case your account may be suspended or denied at the decision of the administrator.

Comments

When you submit a comment please note that it may publicly visible. So you are advised not to include any personal information. We strongly advice you not to publish uncivilized posts in any of our online retrievable sites. SMC will not hold any responsibility on these types of comments. Comments are not added by SMC, so we do not hold any responsibility about the information published in these comments.

Video Channel

College Video Channel uses media from the Youtube channel www.youtube.com/smckegalle. This channel will be maintained by the college and will be used to host its video albums. You can browse the college online video album at www.kgsmc.sch.lk/Video

College does not hold any responsibility on the comments, video replies and other sort of hacking related with this channel at any time.

College Blogs and News

There may be several blogs and news archives on the web indicating that they hold news about the collage. Collage does not hold any responsibility on the contents published at these pages. To see official releases of news by the collage visit www.kgsmc.sch.lk/News

Collage does not hold any responsibility of the comments, replies to these news releases.

Account Security

Collage does not ask for your password at any time except in your inquires made on security. Collage does not send any emails inquiring about your password or any sort of personal information like your account numbers. You are not advised to provide your password or sensitive information to any other and protecting your account from intruders must be done by user self with careful maintenance. If you need to change your password or account information please see www.kgsmc.sch.lk/accounts for information.

We also recommend to change your password after you gain access to your account immediately after registration. Your account may be monitored by an authorized personal (of college) in case it must be done.

Please make any extra security measures to use a complex password for your account.

College Forum

College message board (or college forum) which is located at www.kgsmc.sch.lk/forum is the place for marians to discuss, interact with the primary web interface. The forum provides several feeds (RSS feeds) so that it can be used in places possible. The message board may hold your posts until a moderator will approve your post or may not publish your post at once. Special permissions can be obtained to your account as desired by the college web team. Your posts may be listed in the community section of the primary website. Although the message board is moderated by a panel of moderators, the message board may still contain unofficial posts. Please report these posts if you find them.

We do not inquire about your security information like passwords in any case. You are advised not to give your sensitive information to public.

We do not hold any responsibility for the posts or any sort of publishing by an unauthorized member.

Privacy

We care your privacy with your accounts registered with college online services. Registration data servers and applications are password protected with a complex algorithm to ensure that they must be used only by authenticated power users. Registration application (we used to register you) is designed to access these databases secularly.

But it is your responsibility to protect your privacy in cases such as phishing, spam or in incidents like account gaining (you may call it hacking)

It's your responsibility to protect your account as guided in section 6 under account security.

Some of your information like your email address, your first and last name are visible to all users registered under kgsmc.sch.lk. They are not visible to users outside our network. That means a small description of you is visible to college users to contact you. To search for contacts see www.kgsmc.sch.lk/contacts. This is to ensure collective collaboration among SMC users. If you dont like your contact information to be shared please contact the administrator at admin@kgsmc.sch.lk

Google Apps [Which we provide services like documents, sites, contacts, calender. See more information at section 2] also holds a separate privacy policy. As part of this responsibility, we let you know what information we collect when you use our products and services, why we collect it and how we use it to improve your experience."
